Everyone dreams of flipping houses, but very few ever do it. Why is that? Rehabs are fun and challenging, and the profits are enormous. Plus, compared to other investments, you receive your profits in months (not years). So why don’t more people do it? The answer is simple; people do not know how to get started. They don’t know what to do, where to turn, or who to trust. Well, stay tuned, because best-selling author and investor, Lloyd Segal, has the solution. Lloyd has made “fix & flip” investing as simple as possible. He has broken down the process into four easy to understand steps: (1) find, (2) finance, (3) fix, and (4) flip houses.
Lloyd is a best-selling author of four books, including “Stop Foreclosure Now in California” (published by Nolo Press, Berkeley, CA), “Stop Foreclosure Now” (published by the American Management Association, New York, NY). Last year, “Stop Foreclosure Now” was selected the “Best Personal Finance Book of the Year” by USA Today Book News, based on its strategies to help homeowners avoid losing their homes in foreclosure. Lloyd also wrote “Foreclosure Investing” (published by Regency Book, New York, NY) to educate real estate investors, and his newest book is entitled “Flipping Houses,” which describes how to get started finding, financing, fixing, and flipping houses.

Trained as an attorney, Lloyd Segal is a best-selling author, real estate investor, landlord, mentor, and public speaker. Now located in Los Angeles, California, Lloyd was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He graduated Boston University, Boston University Law School, and Southwestern University School of Law School (where he was the President of the Student Bar Association), and studied International Law at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
Lloyd is an informative public speaker with over 25 years of professional real estate experience as an investor, mentor, mortgage banker, and real estate attorney. He has been interviewed and/or quoted on National Public Radio, Wall Street Journal, CNN, Fox Business News, Los Angeles Times, Parade Magazine, Smart Money, Publisher’s Weekly, and numerous other radio, TV, and newspapers around the country. He is also a frequent guest speaker at various universities, boards of realtors, Coldwell Banker national conventions, and other real estate and service organizations throughout the United States.
In his spare time, Lloyd is an avid polo player (horse polo, not water polo). Lloyd is a member of the United States Polo Association (“USPA”) and the former President of the Will Rogers Polo Club in Pacific Palisades, California (for nine years!).
Lloyd is not afraid to put his life on the line. In 2005, Lloyd traveled to New Orleans and volunteered in the recovery efforts after Hurricane Katrina destroyed the city and killed 1,833 residents. In 2010, Lloyd did it again! He traveled to Port-a-Prince after the earthquake devastated Haiti, aiding in the recovery efforts that destroyed the city and killed over 160,000 people. Lloyd would have done it again in 2014 after a typhoon and tsunami destroyed Phuket, Thailand, but was stopped at the border because he didn’t have sufficient vaccinations. And of course, Lloyd will volunteer again when the next natural disaster inevitably strikes somewhere in our world.
In 2016, Lloyd assumed leadership of LAREIC from the late Phyllis Rockower. Since then, Lloyd has been busy expanding the Club’s events and programs for Club members, Gold Members, and real estate investors.
It’s great to attend one of our SB REIA meetings especially if you are local. But when you have the opportunity, you should also attend the Los Angeles Real Estate Investors Club’s (LAREIC.com) at their monthly meetings (where Lloyd is President). LAREIC regularly has 200-300 attendees, 40+ vendors at their events. You should also checkout the somewhat smaller Ventura County Real Estate Investors Association (which Lloyd and LAREIC also operate) which also has a good amount of speakers and vendors as well. That will make a big difference in what you can learn, who you can network with, and the opportunities you have to create results in your life.
We usually have tables for vendors to display their business information and meet and greet our members to share their business services. Vendor tables are $50 each and are about 4′ x 6′ in size.
